Engage Leadership delivers the right mix of managerial intervention and mentoring. The mix depends on your specific needs. For example, the task may be to develop a number of team members simultaneously. In other cases it may mean fulfilling a management responsibility for part or all of an assignment, along with engaging in related mentoring sessions.
Managerial intervention includes setting goals, defining clearly the outcomes the organisation wants, directing action to meet those goals and performance management.
Mentoring sessions are customised to take account of individual’s skill levels and observed mindsets & behaviours. These sessions involve learning and development, guidance towards goals, and the mutual sharing of experiences & opinions. The focus is on unlocking potential and on building self-belief.
Engage Leadership’s main goal is to ensure that when the interim assignment is completed the management team is more accountable and self-directed.
Engage Leadership’s assignments are typically of six to nine months duration, but can be shorter or longer depending on your requirements.
Engaging Leadership
The desired outcomes of the interim assignment will be discussed and agreed with the CEO or owner. This will include, inter alia, a review of the Strategic Plan and the priority short-term goals of the organisation.
A customised programme will be delivered to the CEO / owner entitled: Leadership Development – Understanding The Role of a Leader.
Engaging The Team
The following are typical areas of action:
- Work closely with managers to resolve major issues and implement change
- Create / clarify job specifications for key personnel
- Implement KPI measurements linked to key organisational goals
- Review skill sets, mindsets and behaviours and identify gaps
- Assess supply chain issues e.g. supplier performance, material supply risks, production control, quality audits, inventory tracking & trace-ability, sales pipeline targets and developing markets
- Introduce / clarify procedures across the various management functions
Where appropriate, customised mentoring sessions will be delivered to key managers and individuals. The programmes will be designed to address and resolve specific issues within the individual’s area of responsibility. These include Maximising Your Performance, Managing Your Time, Sales Development, Team Building, Problem Solving / Building Self Confidence, Decision Making and Accountability & Self Direction
